Wales ' youth guru has been in talks with heads of Football Association of Wales and believed that it will be offered the temporary position on Monday.
"Decisions are taken and carefully considered. Let's see on Monday when the situation is clarified," he said.
The FAW finally want a permanent successor to John Toshack.
The 61-year-old got down on Thursday after opening Euro 2012 qualifying defeat Friday in Montenegro.
