Midfielder Steve Sidwell joined Aston Villa Chelsea in July 2008 Millwall medium Steve Sidwell is hopeful of a return to first team after playing the full 90 minutes for reservations on Monday. Sidwell, which has been out for a month with an Achilles injury, highlighted in 4-0 victory over Blackpool.
He told the Club's website: "it was good to be out there who has been a frustrating few weeks.
"The games are what you need. This was the first back, I'll just joins in training and see where it goes."
Sidwell had a good pre-season, but was injured in the final against Valencia friendly Villa at Villa Park on August 6, eight days before the beginning of the season of Premier League.
The former player reading and Chelsea helped Villa a Blackpool at Bodymoor Heath, with a brace of James Collins Jr and goals of Samir Carruthers and Michael Drennan seal victory.
