Arsenal suffers setback of Van Persie

Robin van PersieVan Persie missed five months from last season with an ankle injury arsenal striker Robin van Persie will be sidelined with an ankle injury until at least mid-October.

The Dutch, 27, suffered the injury during the arsenal win by 2-1 over Blackburn in the Premier League on August 28.

It seems likely that he will miss at least five games of Premier League, including the North London Derby in Tottenham on September 21 and distance to leaders Chelsea on October 3.

The Dutch, however, will have to do without it to qualify for Euro 2012 against Moldova and Sweden next month, with Ruud van Nistelrooy Hamburg should continue to fill the violation in the cast.

Van Persie injury resulted in the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward Van Nistelrooy invoked by the Netherlands for the first time in two years, as the 34-year-old came off the bench to score once in his country's opening group E qualifier on Friday – a 5-0 victory over San Marino.

After missing much of last season due to injury, Van Persie a constant as the Netherlands reached the final of World Cup this summer, but he had a frustrating start to the current national campaign.

Total fitness mismatch, he made only brief appearances in opening fixtures for arsenal against Liverpool and Blackpool before his first game of the campaign was interrupted by injury after 35 minutes on Saturday.

However, there is better news for the Gunners Manager Arsene Wenger, the Middle Samir Nasri.

The French hurt his knee in the 1-1 League draw in Liverpool on August 15th. However, according to a statement on the site of Arsenal, Nasri "returns to training the next few days", after being initially anticipated to be discarded by a month.
