Wenger worry in Walcott lesions

Theo WalcottFledgling career of Walcott has been riddled with injuries Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger admits that he's worried how Theo Walcott's latest injury setback will affect the England international on a mental level.

Walcott, 21, faces up to six weeks after damage the ankle in qualifying victory of England 3-1 UEFA EURO 2012 about Switzerland on Tuesday.

Wenger said: "it is frustrating for you never know what kind of psychological impact has".

"The mental side is always a question mark when a player gets injured".

Walcott first suffered a fire in November 2008 when he visited a shoulder on the duty of England away from him for six months.

A litany of other problems, including back, knee injuries and hamstrings, marked his season 2009-10-availability of stop-start to his club, culminating in its controversial omission cast World Cup England Manager Fabio Capello.

And Wenger added: "when you're a Manager and you see an injury does not adversely affect the career of a player, you're happy.

"After the unknown quantity is only as it will damage your confidence in the box, to combat and all that."

Walcott hasn't made no secret of his disappointment in the summer of Capello snub, but he began this brilliant season for the Club and country.

He found the net three times in four games for the shooters and impressed in their three international appearances – even catch the eye during the 10 minutes that he was in the field in Basel before a challenge by Swiss Yves Oehri Defender ended his night.

But, despite his bad luck, Wenger has supported the player he purchased for 5 million pounds of Southampton in 2006 to return again.

"Ideally, you don't want a player to be injured by EU tackles often bad," said the Frenchman.

"However, believe that Theo will deal well with this because he has done this before."

Runner-up Arsenal retake their League campaign at home to Bolton on Saturday, with Wenger also without the talents of striker Robin van Persie, whose ankle knock carries approximately the same prognosis as Walcott and defender Thomas Vermaelen (Achilles).

Extreme Aaron Ramsey, however, is expected in November, the Welsh continues his rehabilitation from broken leg he suffered in Stoke last February.
