Benitez hits Liverpool hierarchy

Rafael BenitezLiverpool finished seventh in last season's Benitez responsible Inter Milan, Manager Rafael Benítez has launched an attack against former club Liverpool hierarchy in.

Benitez had a strained relationship with boardroom, the Anfield and left in the summer to join the Italian Club.

"Last year in Liverpool had directors who didn't know anything about football and you couldn't talk about football with them", said the Spanish 50 years of age.

"My relationship with the President [Inter Milan] Massimo Moratti is good, he is a man who knows his football".

Benítez took in Liverpool in June 2004 and led them to Champions League glory in 2005 and an FA Cup victory in 2006.

But the has eluded him and he only took the reds seventh in top flight last season, which means that they missed out on a lucrative place in the UEFA Champions League.

At the end of his mandate in June, Benítez seems to have become frustrated with the lack of funds to bring in Players Club heavily in debt in the co-ownership of Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

Benítez don't name names but Hicks, Gillett, President of Club Martin Broughton, Director Christian Purslow and commercial Director Ian Ayre sit on the Board of five people in the Club.

Hicks and Gillett, who bought the reds in February 2007, has angered many fans of Liverpool with the way in which they ran the Club.

And, although they put the Merseysiders to sale, no buyer still was found.

Broughton was hired to oversee the process of sale in April 2010, with their arrival at the request of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) as a condition for them extending a loan Hicks and Gillett for another six months.

However, a term refinancing of $ 237 Club.m debt with RBS is fast approaching, with Hicks trying to get exclusive control of the Club.
