New Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier asserts its arrival at the Club marks the beginning of a new era.

Steven Gerrard is a former Liverpool manager tipped Gerard Houllier to influence at Aston Villa.

Sky Sports News understands that Phil Thompson will not hold a role as an assistant manager Gerard Houllier potential Aston Villa.

Gerard Houllier is due to meet on the French Football Federation President Fernando Duchaussoy on Wednesday amid reports he is poised to become the new manager of Aston Villa.
